Recommended speaker brands?

cmb6062

I'm wondering if any of you guys have any tips about a good company that makes great speakers, and maybe subwoofers.

I have some Pure Acoustics speakers, they are very clear and i can turn the volume a lot until the sound gets shitty. + a Yamaha subwoofer, very neet

JBL make good speaks. If it's computer speaker you are after, I can recommend Altec Lansing and Harman Kardon speakers aswell.

Personally, I use Event Opal speakers, but those are (or atleast were) quite expensive.

Since you already mentioned Yamaha, why not go with speakers from them? They make briliant speakers. What I wouldn't to for a pair of HS8's.

The best "bang for the buck" in a matched set of home cinema speakers, the Infinity Primus line gets my vote.  They came up with a formula that worked great a decade ago and then tried very hard not to break it with "improvements".   My only real dislike about them is that (at least the floor standing towers) some of them are tall and narrow and perhaps a bit tippy.  No brand I know makes a superior cinema package *and* subwoofer.  For a sub I would go M&K.  The pre-buy out stuff is available second hand and usually quite a good deal.  I have liked some of Velodyne's more expensive models as well as top of the line Klipsch and SVS too.

System: i5 6600K@3.6 GHz, Gigabyte Z170XP SLI, 2x8 Corsair DDR 3000, Corsair Hydro H60i cooler, Rosewill CAPSTONE 750w Gold PSU, 1x 512GB SSD, 1x 2TB 7200RPM, Windows 10 Pro x64
Display: XFX R9 390 DD, triple 1920x1200 24" HP monitors (5760x1200 @ 60Hz)   Sound: Audio-gd NFB-11 -> AKG K7XX or 2.1 speaker system

very hard to recommend stuff without a budget. There's speakers for $10 all the way to $100k+. Also, do you already have a receiver?

I like KEF, B&W and wharfedale, but all their speakers are passive which requires another amp. But then again, I'd like to think speaker should just create the sound, without any additional amp inside of it
