I am gonna need one for my first build, and I want it to be gaming quality... MX browns? Or whatever. But it can't be expensive. Also, USB. No PS/2 please. Ideas?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

How much is "expensive" for you? The Corsair K70 is a really good mechanical keyboard and you can get it in Brown switches or other switches as well. (Blue, Red).

Well, first of all, "expensive" is rather relative. You'd have to give a target price we can work with.

Secondly, noone can tell you what switches are right for you, you'd have to try it if possible. Two of my brothers use mech keyboards aswell, but I like blues, the other one likes browns and the last one uses blacks.

It's personal preference really.

less than 100 usd please. I do mostly gaming, I'm thinking browns or blacks.

Hmm.. Blacks seem a bit more exclusive and Browns are pretty good for gaming and typing I heard.
