I found it boring and the multiplayer is a bit dead.

story was not too bad and I loved the atmosphere ,I highly suggest buying it.

Forewarning: Clear Sky gets pretty annoying at the beginning

It's hardcore, quite atmospheric, so give it a try if u didn't before.

The story lane is also fine.

I thought Shadow of Chernobyl was really good in terms of the story and the development of the world (you have to explore a lot though), but the combat is really unbalanced and broken sometimes.

 

Clear Sky was kinda bad, IMO. Story was practically nonexistent, and you don't really get that much insight on the world. Combat was vastly improved, but there really wasn't that much to do with it.

 

Call of Pripyat was pretty good. They changed a lot of things and made it a lot less buggy. It had by far the best combat of any of the games, and it had a lot to do in it. Story was practically nonexistent, as well.
