I'd go for an i5 over the pentium, and get a z97 mobo, other than that it looks pretty good.

I suggest getting an i3 4370/60 and getting a cheaper, clock locked motherboard so that you don't bottleneck that 970. I hate the word "bottleneck" with a passion but I feel like there's a fairly decent chance that you'll be maxing out the Pentium if you overclock the 970 and try to play Ultra settings in AAA games.

Also, get a 120GB OCZ Arc 100 for a few bucks more if you can spare it. And you don't need an optical drive (unless you must watch movies through it or something the like) as you can install Windows using a flash drive of 8GB or more.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Don't get the Pentium processor if you plan on playing any AAA games. It won't be able to handle them.

I'd also ditch the optical drive.

Do not buy a 64gb SSD; even if it's just for the OS, you'll have a horrible experience with it. Aim for at least 128gb.

Is that kingston SSD from the V300 series?  If it is, I would suggest you to change it for something else.

Pretty sure they didn't swap the NAND on the 64GB but I could be wrong.

Nonetheless, he should swap it out for an ARC 100 which will not only outperform it greatly but will also give him more storage.
