How to clean headphones?

My HD558's microfiber cloth ear cups and headband smell like hair. Is there a way to clean it.

If the ear cushions remove like the 598's, then simply stick a few fingers inside the ear cup and pull out.

 

I just wipe them with a damp hot cloth.

Remove the cups and soak in warm water with a little bit of mild detergent. Rinse with warm water. Dry them with a towel. Enjoy clean cups.
