Good free HTML editor with preview?

I'm looking to build a website from scratch and have little experience with actually building a website, but I do know some HTML coding. I would like an edior that shows a preview of what the final product will look like without having to upload it to the server. Any suggestions?

 

Also, do you recommend or know of any templates that I can work off of?

Notepad++ is my recommendation but it lacks preview. 

 

Dreamweaver is by far the best, if you can avoid the price.

If I were you, I'd just use Notepad++ and just work on the webpage locally on your computer. Whenever you want to make changes, just refresh the page.

I think serif webplus offers preview as well as web designing with out coding option as well as offering a coding section but not a great interface for coding.

The one I used (not knowing much of coding) for messing around with page creator with tags was KompoZer but it hasn't been updated since 2010.
