best headphones?

so i am probably going to make myself a headset by putting an antlion's modmic on a pair of headphones. what is the best pair of headphones? im looking for an open pair because i do play alot of FPS and i want to be able to hear where stuff is.

I have the Superlux 668Bs and I am in love with them.  They sound way above their price bracket.  I got them for only $30 through Massdrop, so an absolute steal.  Even at $40-50 they are well worth it.  I also added some velour earpads purchased through ebay for $15, wearing them now, and are incredibly comfortable.  One thing I recommend doing is stretching them out a little bit over your case or something.  They have a decent amount of clamp, its not bad like some other headphones, but stretching them out does make them a tad more comfortable for extended periods of time.

 

Honorable mention is the Shure SR850.  I don't have personal experience with it, but I have heard good things, and it comes with velour earpads stock.

 

EDIT*  According to someone on Headfi, the SR850s are the same as the Superlux 681's, not as good as the 668Bs, but not bad.  The stock velour earpads are also a really nice touch.  Looking at the two cans on Amazon, they look almost identical to the Superlux's.
