Reboot pc? Try on another network if possible? It could also be a server-side issue.

^ This... I watch youtube ads to help the creator, like @LinusTech, @JayzTwoCents, and @Barnacules. They deserve money from their videos.

Or just whitelist certain webpages and youtube channels to support them. Thats what I do.

What is the difference?

What do you mean? If you're confused by the suggestions, understand that troubleshooting requires isolating variables as much as possible. So trying another network would isolate the problem of it being your own network's problem. Rebooting your pc would isolate the variable of computers just sometimes need rebooting to make things work.

Okay. First off, i block ads everywhere. 
I help out the people i support in other ways; from buying tshirts and using affiliate links on pretty much everything, to straight up helping the creators with making the content.
So you'll forgive me if i want ALL of my screen to put content on, and dont support malicious ads.

 

Secondly, i usually run into this issue on malware infected machines; usually, not always. 

Try running ADWCleaner as a start, and try again afterwards. Don't forget to run as an admin.

Quite a few times sky news may have a say 10 second clip, so do I wanna watch a 1minute ad before getting to watch a 10second video? NO being a paying customer is even worse.
