So I got alot of icons and I don't really know how to clean it up. I usually put them in folders per type of programs (games, software, etc) but it's kinda ugly. Wondering what could I do? Any desktop stuff I can make a like a dropdown menu on desktop or something.

Could you explain and recommend me a skin to use? Or should I use the default stuff?

So you can pin all your program to your Start Screen if you use Windows 8.

But if not you can use Fences.

http://www.stardock.com/products/fences/

You can make groups of icon, and you can hide them and show them as needed.

You should look into it.
