CPU Temp

I have a i5 4670 and its cooled by a h80i. at idle one of the cores is about 3-5 degrees above the rest and at full load it is around 10 degrees higher. Is this normal?

Normal, no. Could be a mounting issue/ thermal paste issue.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

It is NOT normal...

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

lol you will normally see a 10c difference between lowest to highest core temp

core 1 typically the hottest

core 4 typically runs cooler

the idle \ load temps reported are perfectly normal

a 10°C delta under load is acceptable, but a constant 5°C delta at idle indicates a bad mount.

here are my non refresh temps. ive tested all the unlocked 1150 chips, they all very similar. im out 8-9c under load on both the i5 and i7

even a difference of 5 c between cores at idle is normal IMO

Its perfectly normal.  There is about a 3-10C temperature disparity between cores.

For those who are saying it's not normal, are you monitoring a single core?

They won't always share the same temperature, and often at times there will be a difference observed.
