On my g4 cube, there are two buttons on bottom, one is restart, the other is unknown. I think it is developer button. What does it do?

Press it and find out?

Yeah,I could do that, but then I would have to plug in the cables again and find a paper to press the button with.

One of them is a Reset button, I believe the other is for sleep. G3 and G4s have those I think.

One is reset, the other would hnot be sleeb, as the top power button does that.

Im pretty sure i read somwhere it was a "developer button"

Sounds funny. I'll look around if I can find some info on that, but I'm 90 percent sure that its a sleep button. I think in the OS 9 days that the top button would shut down the machine, rather than sleep it by default.

good point, i updated to osx.

@spwath yeah its a "Programers Button". Don't know what it is, but if you scroll down to page 22 that's what Apple's manual says.

Maybe it adds 5 RSS feeds to the CPU, overdrives the SCSI bus and makes the Kanooter Valve allow more air through the heatsink to make it more faster.

Cant, there is no fan

Thats the only problem with that statement

From the g4 (non cube) manual

Programmer’s button
This button interrupts the normal operation of the computer’s software. You will use this
button rarely or never, only when firmware updates are required for your system.
Directions for using this button are included in the firmware update documentation.
