Best "place" to start learning progamming

Hey there folks! Let me give you a little background of who I am incase it helps answer my question. I am a 19 (20 in 13 days) accounting major. I have always wanted to learn how to write programs. I love math and have a pretty good attention to detail, hence why I went into accounting. So my question is what is the best "place" to start learning programming. I'm not talking so much about a platform or college class. I was thinking the site that linus always promotes on the WAN show (I forget the name but you guys know it.) I only know very basic HTML code and I did a little work in Python a few years back. And I plan on getting another degree in programming after my B.S. in accounting. Much love!

http://lynda.com/techquickie - the place you forgot the name of.

Thanks! Would you guys suggest I maybe start here? I don't mind paying monthly for it, but I am a full time college student currently working three jobs for the most part. xD

Maybe I should have specified more. I don't want just links with tons of tutorials and no reason given. Why would you suggest it?

What language are you interested in learning? Or if you're not sure, what kinds of things do you want to learn to program? For example, making websites is different from making Android apps and you'll learn different languages.

My endgame goal is writing my own account software that has all the features I like in it. But for now making apps seems fun and just some simple programs to help with school or personal work. :)

I've used them. I liked it but didn't feel like I "learned" anything. Get what I'm saying?

edit: I've been reading and I'm thinking of doing www.codeschool.com based on what I read it is more hands out which is how I learn in school. I'm not a fan of listening to lectures. :)
