After making my purchase, I figured it would be a good idea to give some feedback on the general @MayflowerElectronics navigation and purchase experience.

While it was easy enough for me to find a product I was looking for, the amplifier and DAC look similar.  It might help to denote in red or something amplifier standalone or DAC standalone in the product picture.  Also, unless the potential buyer is looking at the original Objective 2/ODAC, there is no product specification sheet otherwise.  The only available specification sheet (picture) is super small.

Lastly, there is no built-in navigation for an account page.  It would be really cool if people could have the option to create an account with their pertinent shipping and billing information (maybe a 'My Account' drop-down button on the top right of every page).  Giving the option to create an account during the initial purchase (without the option for choosing a username) was a bit weird.

In conclusion, I hope this information helps with future iterations of the website.

My PC specifications are in my profile.

Each product is in it's own catagory - IE if you want a headphone amp only it is in the headphone amp category. I figured that would be easy enough to understand. I'll let the website engineer know to enlarge the picture.

Account - This is a problem with wordpress and the way they run their accounts, but I'll forward everything to the engineer and let him know. Thanks for the suggestions.

You're very welcome!  Have you considered Squarespace.com/linus (offer code: LINUS)?  :P

Lol no way, squarespace isn't meant for this kind of website.

It claims to have store templates.  Maybe send them an e-mail and ask for clarification.  I would think Mayflower falls into the category of e-commerce.

  • 2 weeks later...

Couple of ideas @MayflowerElectronics on future products:

  • Optional rear Toslink connection
  • Optional toggle switch could mute rear RCA or front output for those who want to leave everything plugged in
  • Maybe after you expand more, you could offer an O2 on a larger PCB that would accomodate a volume wheel, but not quite as large as this.  The current knob is passable but having that as an option would make your products more accessible for people with physical ailments/hand injuries.

Hopefully, you find this useful.  :)

A lot of the O2 AFAIK cannot be modified because of patents from nwavguy, but they may be expired already, not sure.

I figured that might be an issue.  Nobody has managed to make contact with NwAvGuy since he stopped posting on his blog?  Guy's apparently pretty knowledgable with computers too if he can disappear like a ghost.

It helps when you never posted anything personal in the first place, and when no one is really looking for you.

I've read people suggest he might have stopped posting under the alias due to death threats, but even that is mere speculation.

So here are pretty much the only 3 possibilities that I believe happened to him.

1 - He was paid off. This is the least likely IMO.

2 - His mother passed and he left the hobby

3 - He put a fair amount of businesses under, made a lot of them look bad, and took sales from many. This generates unwanted pressure, something I can totally agree with.

@h264 and I have a really good idea of who actually is nwavguy, but I don't want to start any rumors.
