I can't make up my mind on what I want to buy. I've narrowed it down to these builds. It will be used for gaming and internet. I want to play League of Legends, BF4, and Evolve on ultra. I usually have some webpages and youtube music playing too. I'm not going to overclock and will use 1 GPU. Currently have a 60hz monitor and will upgrade to 120hz later.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Thanks for all the quick replies. Looks like the Intel is better. My friend just bought the R9 290 and FX-8350 I was about to buy, and is going on about how great it is in BF4 and he can download WoW and 2 other games at once, but then I saw the I5 and all the benchmarks are higher. Would the I5 have the same capabilities to handle multiple downloads and just be fast in general like the 8350? My current build is an Intel core 2 duo E7400 and it sucks, I just want to get the best for my money. Thanks for the help.

To download multiple games at once is stupid, unless all games have shjty servers and you have a godly internet.

But to answer your question, yes, the i5 will handle it just fine.

bump

This is a little over budget, but I think its worth it to have a hyperthreaded CPU, a really nice case, a really nice PSU, and one of the highest clocked 970s since you said you're not overclocking.
