So, basically, I was in the process of building my first computer. Once I was done assembling everything, I turned the bad-boy on and it didn't post. Thus I began to disassemble and resemble it 3 times and it still isn't posting. Have any tips on how to fix this darn thing?

List O' Parts:

1x Sapphire radeon r7 260x OC Version

1x Corasir CX 430

1x Intel Pentium g3258

do the fans spin up? Does the screen detect any input? is your monitor plugged into the GPU or the mobo?

also why would you get a g3258 and a non-overclocking motherboard?

You're supposed to do it so I normally wouldn't post this, but because you are new to the forum, have you read the Read Me post? http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/42440-readme-how-to-respond-to-a-no-post-or-no-power-up-situation/

What I would do first if I was you would be trying the integrated graphics: remove the GPU and connect your monitor to the HDMI/DisplayPort/DVI/whatever port on your motherboard

CPU: i5-6600k @ 4.4GHz | Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming | RAM: 8GB HyperX Fury | GPU: Asus Strix GTX 980 | Case: NZXT Noctis 450 Red/Black | Storage: 256GB Sandisk SSD + 1TB Western Digital HDD | PSU: EVGA 750w | Monitor: ASUS VS247H | CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo | Keyboard: $15 Cheapo Rubber Dome Keyboard | Mouse: Rosewill RGM-300

Is your BIOS updated to the latest one? G3258 is Haswell Refresh based and B85s are all Haswell based. It's a lottery with the manufacturer trying to get an updated BIOS shipped to you.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Maybe im wrong here but i cant remember b chipsets supporting 1866mhz RAM. Can you check your mainboards qvl list?

Doesn't mean it won't work. Higher speed RAM will just automatically downclock to run at the maximum supported speed of the chipset/motherboard
