Cheapest render cpu

I am looking to build a render farm for 3d work, AE and premiere work. What would be the best bang for the buck cpu? I am looking at performance per dollar and not what is the best for rendering overall. Please take into account memory and motherboard prices so no DDR4 just yet.

Xeon E3 1245 V3 or an E3 1231v3 if you already have a gpu/don't need a dedicated gpu.

Xeon 1231v3 - Price of an i5 with the prowess of an i7. It doesnt have an integrated GPU, though, but that shouldnt be an issue.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

This all the way. I thought about getting the 1245 since my G3258 isn't exactly the fastest renderer or multitasker, even OC'd to the moon like it is. But, I have other things to buy.

 

But to be fair, the G3258 is still pretty fast. 720/30 renders tend to be about 1.2-1.6 seconds of rendering for 1 second of video.

x5650 on lga 1366 is cheapest used option

 

amd 8320 is the cheapest  new  option

how does the 8320 perform in render applications compared to the intel 1231

 

 

at stock settings they will be very very similar with a possible slight edge to intel (very slight)

 

8320 @ 4.3-4.5ghz will beat the xeon 1231 in render applications

What do you think of this build for rendering? It seems the i7s have same speed but have onbaord graphics for similar price so I am thinking better to go with a i7, also ignore the monitor on there it is something I have been eyeing.

i suggest 250 cpu board combos and your thinking about a 400 dollar combo

 

if money isnt an issue go with a 4790k instead

 

built in gfx shouldnt be an issue. you can get a cheap gfx adapter that outputs 1080p for less than 20 bux

where in the hell can you buy a combo for 250? Here in Canada stuff is expensive. The cost difference between a 8320 and a i7 combos is about $75 and I am pretty sure the i7 wins by far performance wise.
