RIP Plus One (dropped it) Help pls :(

So I was in a hurry to catch the bus and some person was running the other way (towards me) and somehow (I think) he ran into my cord (to headphones) and since my phone was in my jacket-pocket the phone flew out and I accidently kicked it which made it fly even harder into the ground which broke the screen. There is only a really small crack which suprised me and I thought that the phone would work fine (perhaps some bad selfie pics which I don't really mind). When i turned the screen on, it was working fine, no dead pixles or weird colors. But then i realized something horrible... The touch on the top half of the screen was not working

 

Anyone had anything like this before?
Suggestions?
Is there a way to fix it without actually "fix-fixing" it?
Should I replace the screen/glass myself?
Check if someone can do it for me?
Sent it to One Plus to get it fixed?
Buy a new OPO?
But the next OPO? (Release date?)

I love this phone however, It's amazing and the price is as well, build quality was great, it was just me and the other random persons fault it got destroyed and any phone would have died (probably even more) And the Iphone would have gotten 100% shattred and bent so don't come here and say it's a horrible device.

Oh i would have, even though it was 50% my fault. But i had to catch the bus to i picked the phone up and kept running, didn't notice it was broken until i got on the bus (It was covered in water/snow).

The screen is working fine displaying things, it's just the touch that's not working on 50% of the screen so I thought it might just be a small glitch or whatever that could be fixed by like... i dunno, bending it a bit?

Anyone know how much it will cost to send it to OnePlus? Also, is there a way of removing all personal information from the phone with only 50% of the phones touchscreen? Don't really want all my friends to receive dickpics from some drunk OnePlus employee XDD

I've heard that sending it back to OnePlus costs around $250 to repair since digitizer and LCD are one piece. Close to the cost of a whole new device.

Definitely try and get as much as you can out of the warranty. If they can not help, you can try your luck at a local smartphone store and see if they can fix your device, that won't be cheap however.

The saddest thing is that I have never smashed a device. All my old phones still work, sure my most recent one (Nexus 4) has a small crack on the BACK but isn't really a dealbreaker. Guess ill just go back to that one while i wait for OPT or OPO invites.

The last device I had smashed was a 64GB ipod touch.

It was functional, you just couldnt see anything.

I was so fed up with iTunes and the ipod itself I couldn't justify the cost of repairing it so I just gave it to a family member.

I had no music player for about a year then I picked up a smart phone with a micro sd slot and have been using that ever since.

I have about 15gb+ of just music so I will have to remove about half of that to fit it in my 16gb Nexus 4. The OPO is amazing with the 64gb storage, you never have to think about it

I am sure I could have gone to downtown Los Angeles and had it fixed for about $150 but yeah...I was just so tired of the damn thing.

 

I currently have a 32GB msd card in my LG G3 and have it filled with just music, but the funny part is I often find myself only listening to a select few when driving short distances. Haha

64GB is a pretty good size. It's nice not having to worry about storage isn't it?

I think one day I will upgrade to a 64GB card, but for now the 32 is good enough for me.
