I think you should save your money and buy an R9 295x2 instead. It's not much more expensive than a single 980 but performs almost as good as 2.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

dnt do amd cards dnt like them.

Get two cheaper ones, like the EVGA SC. The reference are more expensive.

Very good reasoning there, what resolution & refresh rate are you wanting to play at?

I'd rather drown polar bears and scorch some budgies than pay twice as much for the same result...

Your electricity must be crazy expensive for less than 300 watt difference, only when they are running 100%, to make up for several 100s of dollars in a year.

If you plan to SLI, make sure you look at your motherboard setup first. If you are to install 2 cards, will they be right next to each other with no space in the middle of them?  If so, reference style cooler.  If you have a gap in between the cards, get a non reference blower type cooler.  If you plan to watercool them, then this will not matter

Get the cheapest 980's as I can vouch for them.  I have the base EVGA 980 ACX 2.0 ($545.00); however for a few dollars more, you can easily get a SC version but you can  overclock a base card to achieve a higher cards core clock.  I have overclocked mine and have scored pretty high in a lot of benchmarks.
