Dxtory this is bad right?

Go to solution Solved by Theo,

Oooooh my god again people talking without having any idea of what they are saying.

That speed is fast enough for 1080p even 60fps

What you need to make sure is to have the game installed on another hdd in order to prevent fps dips and all that.

So i need better HDD?

You cant really capture game footage on a mechanical drive at least not very well. You need an SSD.

I really like to hear your voice you always save me xD

54 megabytes per second is way more than you need

most people record at like 50mbs which is like 6.25 megabytes per second

I used to record 1280x1024 @30fps on an old HDD that got about 14MB/s maximum. You've got more than enough speed there

So? That's your settings not the fault of the hdd, I don't think you understand how much 50mb/s is.

Fraps records at 1080p 60fps with that, the main issue is that recording with the bootdrive never ends well. You can record to a hdd however if its your boot then it will not end well.

Shadowplay seems to capture 1080p 60fps just fine on a wd red, albeit a low bitrate but I don't see any reason why someone could do 1080p 30fps with a much higher bitrate just fine on the same drive.

bullshit

Not the hard drives fault!

50MB per second is an insane amount of quality!!!!  a 10 minute video would be like 30GB!

DXTory uses CPU/GPU power to encode the video, which is why it causes stuttering and slow framerates, using the GPU/CPU built in H264 encoder is a more efficient way of doing it  or using different codecs

I've got a related question. Why is everyone talking in megabits, when file storage is measured in megabytes. It is so much easier. It's only ISPs, that love to inflate their speeds that make us use mbps right...

They're all basically thinking the same thing but it's coming out all wrong!

Mbps are used because it actually makes a lot of sense and really isn't something that ISPs use to inflate their advertising.
