Hi there!

So my computer has been turning off randomly during gameplay on games such as Guild Wars 2 and DayZ.
I am a very novice overclocker and currently have my 5930K set to 4GHz with a vcore of 1.14v.

My other computer specs are:

Motherboard: Asus Rampage V Extreme

Video Card: GTX 560 Ti
RAM: G.Skill 2400MHz 32GB

Why is my computer randomly shutting off? My thoughts are that either I am pushing the Video Card harder than it can go or my Overclock is unstable.
I have been running a 10 minute (I know, not long) Stability test on my computer with Aida64 and my processor seems to be fine with a 100% load.

Thoughts anyone?
Any help is appreciated.

GPU is a carry over from previous, saving for 980 currently.

1200W P2 From EVGA

Video Card is Carry Over.

Dose it cut the power or dose it frezze then shutdown?

As far as I can tell it just turns off.

if it dossent get the right power it will frezze if it shutsdown instant i would assume a heat problem

So probably video card then? CPU Temps arent breaking 40c under load.

could be the gpu. what do u cool the cpu with?

Just its stock stuff. a couple of bottom intake fans aimed at it but other than that just its stock fans.

EDIT: Read that wrong. The CPU is being cooled with a Nepton 240M from Cooler Master with the two fans included plus 2 Cougar 120mm PWM configured in push pull exhaust.

with the stock cooler it is posible that a sudden heat spike on the cpu could make the system turn off just a sek when its under allot a pressure could make it spike to a high temp with a stock cooler that is

I read your post wrong. I edited my previous response but I am using a Nepton 240M with two additional fans for push/pull.

but ofc u could still check the gpu temps while playing

They're high. I assume thats the problem then? 80c xD

so 80c would be more then okay actually

Well if its hitting 100% load on the card would that cause this?

remove any overclocks and see if it still crashed. then try different drivers for your gpu, especially if your using a beta driver. i had an issue where my system would crash during gameplay due to driver issues

Will try this.

yes if ur Card hits 100c after some hours of playing then the system will shutdown but not instant the system will close but fans would be spining for some seks before power down

Its only after maybe a half hour though.
