so nVidia gameworks the thing that is supposed to save PC gaming. personally i think its one of the biggest BS in the world. the games that use it like Dying Light and AC4 ran quite shittiliy on pc regardless. aside from it being such a waste it really derails the pc market. and same goes for AMD technologies like tressFX. gameworks (and cometition like it) hurts the market because it doesnt provide a good experiance if you live on the other side of the fence. it keeps the market closed down and ends up just hurting the customer when its supposed to have them enjoy the experiance. i also dislike the way nVidia markets the thing where they say that Gameworks is this wonder drug and that AMD cant compete. they have basically crippled AMD and locked themselves in as the "go to" for GPU's. this also makes them their ass and not go all out on having high performing GPU's (im not talking about the 980). it wasnt always like a re-hash of all last gen cards and a brand new teir 1 and 2 cards. i also hate the fact that AMD does the same thing.

PS: im not a nvidia hater or amd lover, i own an nvidia gpu and buy the competitions the next upgrade. but i really do hate nVidias recent business model of belliteling the competition. you can see this first hand through this podcast. they basically talk alot of shit to AMD and the hosts are butt heads and not even ask decent questions. its basically 1 hour of pure marketing. (though some things they say are true the way they say it is not nice)

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

you are aware this podcast was in response to AMD calling out nvidia and saying they purposely pay devs to make their games run bad on amd cards

i know what it is but thats not the subject at hand. and yea nVidia games do run bad on AMD cards and the same can be said for the other way around. but they made AMD look like they do absolutely nothing.

yea you arent. but the hosts did not ask any compelling or hard questions, they just let the nVidia guys rain all day.

I think the Gameworks library has good tools for developers to have to quickly implement effects. The effects are amazing, there's no denying that.

Now with that said, I think proprietary effects in Gameworks should be somehow worked in to where AMD GPU's can run them in the first place, as well as perform effeciently. Proprietary effects and proprietary tech in general is bad for everyone, and I'd stand by that even with me owning Nvidia products.

However, the titles you mentioned are not being held back in performance due to Gameworks. It's been said time and time again that Gameworks is merely a library of tools that developers use to quickly implement effects. Certain developers, regardless of having access to the Gameworks library, would still have released an unoptimized game; Assassin's Creed: Unity for example, regardless of what PCper's guys kept refuting against the PC community in their video about the game, runs (ran?) like utter crap and it's visuals do not justify it. It was like that for everyone, not just AMD users.

"Hurr durr I run Metro: Last Light at ultra so I should run Dying Light on high! Hurr durr"

Meanwhile, Dying Light has a 4096p shadow map on high, the same as Metro has on Ultra, (and only in interiors, while Dying Light has 4096p all over, including outside) while Dying Light has 8192p skin textures on characters on high, something Metro isn't even close to. As well as fully physX-enabled foliage, unlike Metro.

I used Metro: LL as an example, but it goes for ALL games. "High" in one game is not the same as "High" in another. It could mean better than "Ultra": For example, Skyrim's or Batman: AC "Ultra" shadows setting is a 2048p shadow map, which is the same as medium in DL.

Dying Light has some small issues, but they're not the ones people tend to whine about. Mainly CPU threading  not working right unless you poke it in task manager on startup, and some ugly effects like Film Grain and Chromatic Abberations that you have to use a mod to turn off.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.
