It'll work fine. Do you know the speed btw? You should shoot for 1600Mhz, 1333 minimum for gaming unless you're on an ultra tight budget

its 1333 i have it overclock to 1500 right now i think with my 920 at 3.2ghz

first link is broken...if the i7-4790K is 70$ more i'd take it...more than that get the i5.

EDIT: working now, 90$ more is a lot IMHO...if you don't need the extra threads get the i5...some games benefit from them, not many and when they do you most likely need a beefy GPU to take advantage of them (120FPS +) ...more games in the future might enjoy more cpu threads though.

fixed re-read previous post, do you stream or edit videos/photos or do other task with the machine or is it just a gaming rig?

all things considered it's only 18% more $

I'd take it anyway...that processor can process 30% more.

do you have plan on upgrading the GPU anytime soon? 760...your i7-920 is balanced with a GTX 760 honestly...i can see arma 3 struggling but other than that...

I'm serious, DX12 will be using more cores -optimizing the load-, he may want to render sometime, better multitasking, need more PCI-e lanes.

What speed ???? did you ever have RAM problems ??

I don't think upgrading will do anything if you are just gaming, 1333Mhz is good enough.
