I'm planning to buy GALAX HOF GTX980 or Inno3D Heculez Airboss Ultra

Just wonder if someone here has these cards im deciding if to buy the HOF but somehow it has a coil whine problem anyone here has this card?

Not into overclocking btw just need suggestions or any other good 980's out there

i have two 780 sc acx cards one whines the other doesnt make a sound

The HOF is a bit of a waste if you don't intend in OCing. Especially seeing as its a great feature of the new 900 series cards. 

 

Just go with the cheapest one you can find. even a reference cooler will keep it nice and cool without an OC

Get the HOFs, you get coil whine sometimes, sometimes you don't.

True. But if you get a good card it's likely not until extreme FPS levels that you'll notice coil whine. 

 

For example my 7870 doesn't have coil whine even in games where loading screens hit 500+ FPS. However when exiting out of Unigine Heaven and it hits 3000FPS for about two seconds, you basically hear http://youtu.be/YLQtbSFhseg?t=8s
