It states that Spotify and Skype is running in that picture, so what do you mean you don't have any programs running? Try shutting them off and see if it clears up some RAM.

yea well it's only 170MB AND i should be able to have my anti virus program running when i have 8GB of installed ram in my computer shouldn't i ?

 

 

yes but it says they are using 100mb and 94mb  of ram and those are the highest consumers of RAM in the computer, so that shouldn't make 7.6GB used

 

Try turning them all off to see if the problem at least goes away. We have to start ruling things out etc.

Did this only start recently?

Desktop: 16gb Ram, i7-2600k, GTX 560 OC.    Laptop: i7, 8gb DDR3, 840m GPU

Server 1 (Files and AD): i3 3220, 4gb DDR3, 1TB Western Digital Blue, Overkill motherboard I got for free (better than main computer) changed to xeon, don't remember exactly what but xeon version of the processor  and 8gb ECC Ram   Server 2 (games): 8gb Ram, i5, Geforce 710m

So it says i'm using 7.6GB of ram even when i'm not running any programs.

Can I have some more deets please? How many sticks of what amount of ram, when did this start, new computer or not, etc. 

Plz provide as much specifics as possible.

Closed everything except AVAST, down to 7.2GB in use

HyperX 2 sticks of 4 GB built the computer in December and it's bin running fine until now.

Do a memtest and post results. Then try running with one stick in only.
