Using Headphones and Speakers simultaneously

Is there anyway to output a signal out of two of the 3.5mm jacks on a motherboard so they both output to two speakers/headphones?

My motherboard has 4 audio out lines -- main speaker line out, center/sub, rear, side. Would it be possible to plug my speakers into the main speaker line out, and my headphones into center/rear/surround output and have the same audio output to both?

/yes, I know I could just get a splitter and have everything be solved, or just use the front headphone jack, but I don't want to do either one.

Two windows outputs - disclaimer, doesn't work for every system

Use Stereo mix or something of the like

My headphones don't show up under stereo mix (sound does come out of them -- but they also block my speakers).

Sorry, reading your post again I don't think you can do what you are wanting to do. I'm pretty sure you can't have the front out mirrored to the rest of the surround outputs.

You're only option is to use a splitter or front panel, or get something like the SBZX Control pod (which is basically a splitter anyway) or add a second sound card and use stereo mix. If your speakers have an optical in you can plug it in there and stereo mix to your headphones.

Does your speakers have a headphone out on them?

Nevermind. I figured it out.

I decided to stop being a lazy schmuck and went and got the realtek driver.

Just for future record, Of the six outputs/inputs on the back (main/front, surround, rear, center/sub, line in, mic), the main out and line in can actually mirror eachother (line in can be set to headphones instead).

Really? Impressive. I've never seen a chipset with the ability to mirror speaker out and line in, only change line in to mic in and vice versa.

Realtek ALC892 evidently can.

For future reader reference, there's also a program you can buy if your specific chipset doesn't support what you need - CheVolume
