Today I was continuing writing my project for school in MS Word. I wrote a couple of pages and decided it is time to share it with my teacher via Google Drive. I downloaded their cloud software and drag n dropped my docx file to the Drive folder. The previous version of the file was already online and I replaced it. Strangely enough, my file did not change online. I then deleted the one I had on Google Drive and dragged the new version again. But it appeared as the old version was restored.

I was dumb enough to not know that the Drive folder consists of shortcuts to online files and there I was, losing all my todays progress. Is there any way I can recover the new version of the doc? Any softwares for that? MS Word doesn't find the file and I am desperate as I wasted all my day researching...

Please help.

Recover the file you can find on google drive and go on the latest revision of it?

The file on google drive is the old one and MS Word does not recognize it as the same I was writing. there needs to be an advanced soloution. I am pretty desperate here.
