Looking for a solid low profile cooler.

I'm in the process of re-purposing one of my old PCs and the original cooler is a little over the top. It's far too big and is stopping me installing some sound dampening material on the top vent so I would ideally like a cooler that is a little smaller but still performs well. This PC is going to be very low end so it doesn't need to turn the tower into a freezer, just needs to be solid and reliable and preferably not too expensive. I've included the dimensions of the current heat sink below

90m high

58mm deep +45 with the current fan installed - wide I know, it's a strange design.

110mm wide

It's an intel CPU by the way.

What socket? EDIT: is it a standard mounting soloution? Like, not a propritary form factor?

I'm not 100% sure tbh, if I remember correctly it's an old dual core, the PC was built in 2009 if that helps. Sorry my memory for that build is all but gone.

We can't really help much until we know what case and cpu you're using.

Can't you look at the specifications in your OS? If that is not an option, it should be written on the processor itself.

Asus B85M-G / Intel i5-4670 / Sapphire 290X Tri-X / 16GB RAM (Corsair Value 1x8GB + Crucial 2x4GB) @1333MHz / Coolermaster B600 (600W) / Be Quiet! Silent Base 800 / Adata SP900 128GB SSD & WD Green 2TB & SG Barracuda 1TB / Dell AT-101W / Logitech G502 / Acer G226HQL & X-Star DP2710LED

Found the info, the CPU is an Intel pentium DC E5300 and the MBN is a Gigabyte GA-EG41MF-US2H. Hope that helps.

What about the case?

EDIT: what I suggested was also over the top.

If what you already have is a stock cooler, you're not going to get much smaller than that.

Maybe get a stock cooler? If you're not overclocking then you shouldn't have a problem using one.

The PC wouldn't be doing anything major so a stock cooler would be fine more than likely but I have had issues with them before and would prefer not to go with one. I've done browsing just on amazon and found a couple that look like they would do the job, the Akasa one looks like it would be perfect is much cheaper than I expected. Can't say I've ever heard of the make though but it's rather well reviewed.

It's a Silverstone PSO2B I think, it's a very basic case.

The Ps02 supports coolers up to 161mm in height.

I'd recommend a Pure Rock: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk009
