How do I Loosen Stuck Screw?

So, I want to repair my laptop and I want to remove the HDD. But there's a screw to prevent the HDD from being removed from the SATA cable, I want to remove the screw with my screwdriver but it can't be loosen.... Any tips to unscrew it?

It might have thread-lock on it, but I don't know, do you have a picture of it?

Use acid to dissolve the screw (and ruin your entire laptop in the process).

Is the screw stripped yet? If not, try to find a screwdriver that fits better and apply pressure from above while turning. If it is stripped, take a look at this and pick your poison:

dont do the slow pry.

get a bit that fits it perfectly to aviod striping and do short hard quick turns to "knock" it  loose.

Apply lot's of pressure, correct screw driver size or try to place the band of an elastic over the screw hole then try to unscrew with the tip of your screw driver digging into the elastic.

Drill it out, or if you can get a bit with some grip that might work to.

If possible, apply WD-40.

Get a good fitting screw driver and turn.

Whatever you do, do NOT force it.

A lot of these screws are machine tightened.

 

Just gotta elbow grease it.
