The issue is more about the ethical unethical business practice of Nvidia as opposed to the performance of the cards. You people don't quite understand that.

So the cards run fine but you just have moral qualms? Hahhahahahahha

I can literally only laugh at you, then feel slightly bad for you for being emotionally attached to a brand name. Then again, your ignorance really takes away from that sympathy I feel for you.

Once you get over the fact that you're a fanboy who will support Nvidia no matter how much they rip you off and take advantage of you, and you start thinking like a responsible consumer, then please reply to me with a not completely idiotic post.

@tezza192 - Did you buy the cards after looking at benchmarks? If so, keep them, because those benchmarks are exactly the same as they were before the event unraveled, and worst case, NVIDIA releases an update to improve the segmented memory and whether or not a game can or should use it.

You guys crack me up and have given me so many hours of entertainment.

You still haven't made an attempt to refute my previous post, you are in no position to talk until you prove me wrong in every aspect of that post.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I would say ignore most everyone here, if your warranty allows, take the cards out try them out. I'm sure you will love the performance and want to keep them. If not return them. Some of the people on here are too big of fanboys to take seriously. They re-use arguments and go in circles like monkeys jangling keys,

Hey Whorax:

Checking out the forums, and stumbled upon this thread. I work for NVIDIA out here in Santa Clara, CA.

There has been a lot of back and forth about the GTX 970 vram issue. Just wanted to jump in and say that while the GTX 970 is just as amazing today as it was when the card launched, the communication as a company has clearly been problematic.

I understand why the GTX 970 community is upset. We posted incorrect specifications and we did not properly explain the memory architecture. We never intended to deceive anyone but despite our best intentions many of you got wrong information/specs that impacted your buying decision which we have let you down.

The GTX 970 is still an amazing GPU and still deserves the praise it received throughout the community and reviews.

With that said, you and others may feel different. You might feel mislead and feel there isn't much you can do. Well you DO have an option.

If any of you don't want the GTX 970 you have purchased, knowing what you know about the performance in your system, you should return or exchange it. You should do what will give you the best gaming experience possible and if you need help to get that done let me know, we'll help. icon_biggrin.gif
