Go to solution Solved by LinusTech,

I'm fine.

Notice anything about those Twitter comments? Almost 200 retweets and over 1000 favourites between them.

Either after all these years I finally cracked and I'm crying myself to sleep at night because someone criticized me on the Internet... OOOOOORRR I read something I thought was funny and/or needed to be addressed and did it in a way that achieves that while also resonating with my followers.

As for the quality of the content (in particular that intro) I think it's better than ever. You say you've been watching for a long time, but have you been watching for 6 years? Cuz here's something WAY more cringe I did 6 years ago:

As far as looking tired/stressed is concerned, I AM tired and stressed. I have a 5 month old infant at home, my company is moving in a couple months, and my team is growing at a rate I can hardly control. Are all of these things stressors, absolutely. Do they all make me happy and motivate me to keep pushing, absolutely. A healthy family and a booming business is about as first world as problems get and every day I'm thankful I'm not losing sleep over much more serious matters.

So in conclusion. I appreciate your concern, but I'm fine. Don't worry about me :)

Since apparently nobody seems to give a damn and actually read the whole thing, only a few people have. Ignore this post,

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

Oh no, someone complaining about how Linus does things. Your opinion is extremely validated by the fact that you're a concerned viewer.

<_< Hush you, Linus does what Linus wants.

"The silly opening was honestly cringe worthy. I mean, I'm not trying to be mean here, or a troll, but the video opening before the intro was just annoying. It's silly, and doesn't seem to be the 'style' of Linus. I know that LinusTechTips can be whatever it wants, but it can be kind of annoying seeing silly intros like that. It may just be me, but you can leave your opinions below."

That is completely unrelated to the point you were making isn't it? How does your disliking of the style of the intro (which i thought was rather amusing), mean he needs a vacation?

My honest opinion:

Linus is an adult, and has been doing this for a long time, if he needs some R&R he'll take it.  You have your opinion and that's cool, but don't "backseat life-coach" him.  This seems to be what he's passionate about, if he didn't love what he did, he wouldn't put so much care & effort into it.

If you don't like the silly things he doesn't in videos, go watch someone that reads specs off a piece of paper in a monotone voice.

Yeah, he can continue making awesome videos with quirky moments in them as he always has. And when he decides that he does need a break, he can take one.

This thread isn't saying, HEY, LINUS, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING!, STOP IT!

It's just a suggestion, I'm not trying to say that they should listen to everything we tell them to do, it's just a simple suggestion. Not trying to be the boss of someone that I literally have no power over. I'm simply making a suggestion.

"Linus NEEDS a vacation or something!" would to me suggest that you are trying to tell someone what to do, rather than suggesting it. Whether YouTube comments affect Linus and how he deals with them is completely down to him; i understand that you are sharing your opinions on how he deals with it in his videos but suggesting he takes a vacation isn't your within your right to do so tbh.

You use a point of him responding to a couple of poorly done questions in the comments section, he's done that before to no ill effect because it's quite amusing when someone talks trash to him for no real reason.

How would he get the money for a vacation? Linus is living a very strange occupation that he works very hard in to meet his requirements. Unless he was somehow getting paid for vacation time he can't take one.
