Why don't you post your 290x score. :P or is it 290?

What's your actual report max boost clock? That's really insane, 1800MHz? Watercooled? Lucky chip?

I disabled boost in the bios.  The single card run was done at 1633 core / 2176 memory.  If I recall correctly, the SLI run was done at 1607 / 1998.  My 2nd card was holding me back quite a bit.  Both were watercooled, one with 73.7% ASIC and the good one had 80.8% ASIC.  Good card, that's what I used for single card runs.

The highest core clock I ever hit on that card was 1671 on the core and 2205 on the memory.  Wasn't stable though, and didn't improve scores.  Was fun to see it though.  = P

lol, that's not playing fair.  The 290X makes my 970 scores look pretty pedestrian.

I'm pretty sure it's the physics test affecting it. Prefers as many cores as possible with enough IPC or maybe he's not OC'd? His GPU score is good though similar to my 290X and 780 Ti.

the "deal" is that i have a stock cooler and a cpu at 38x 34x :) the one doing 13.770 graphics score in a cpu-related benchmark :D
good job for ur 4.9 (and maybe 4.9 - 4.7 or 4.9 - 4.9) 14.400 graphics score !!! i think i can reach 14.400 by highering memory to 8600 like in this bench and by using a temporary 4.2 - 3.8 cpu setting :D

I can't seem to get my memory that high tbh, 8100 is the highest I got but it wasn't pleasant to watch at all, maybe if I had fans on the memory or something but I dunno, the new driver won't let my card go back up to 1670mhz core anymore. :(

i don't know maybe im just a memory clock lucker.... my ex 750 ti was able to clocking 7 ghz sometimes (just on fs) , it's all about chip and lottery, not much about overclocking abilities i guess. I browsed a bit over the web, i rarely see people going over 1575 core, most people tell me im lucky to get 1575/8600 bench 1500/8000 gaming, yet with the stock bios i was stuck at 1476 /7800 gamiing and 1550/8400 bench. I think i updated a really good bios, it improved my card stabilty and idle low voltages issues and stabilty (33-31 °C same fan speed 20m idle temps) , but seriously, ive never seen anyboy over 1600 core, you seem getting have reach 1626 in your bench and talking about having reached close to 1.7 ghz :O:O just if i might ask you, what tdp max and power target do you use? do you use 1.275 or 1.300 or more voltage? im pretty sure about some crazy custom sick bios or some amazing cooling system, or fans, by what you post in your benchmarks i cannot get any infos.

my card has a custom bios made by Mr Dark on OCN, I'm not sure what he set tbh. Here are some screens of my 970.

Sounds good, cant say much if i don't get the *max values over gpuz, tho it seem running unigine at 1275 // 1660 // 8075, so i guess yeah that's it, like i thought, you have a super good configuration, well oced (not really the clocks reason like instead->) the excellent gpu cooling and cpu cooling you have, and maybe yes i don't think i mounted a very different bios, maybe i just played a bit more on memory instead of core clock. I think that as long as you play more on one of the 2 things (not necessary) you may be able to overclock the other one less. I have the card since 8 march so i yet cant say enough or even a bit about high end cards (always had 750 ti). And anyways about the things i said about cpu over firestrike, i cant get even close even to ur GS since i tried it and FS is not anymore that much cpu related, least in terms of GS results.
i think i may inform about upping voltage to 1.3 , i saw something, but not sure may be a good idea in terms of gpu duration/terms, may be better to work over computer config, over good cpu and gpu cooling (computer's armony draws it all a linear stability stadium i think).
Very good configuration, nice picks, and also good chip and good bios, one of the best 970 ive ever seen for now.

Yes i changed the cooler to a smaller one to add more RAM because of not enough space between cpu and ram. I upgrade cpu an mb soon, so i didnt want spend more than necessary on something i throw out soon.
