Recording Drive

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

buy a 240GB crucial or samsung SSD, not a wd black

Yep as @RZeroX said, probably WD Black, and you are not going to get away with 80GB of storage for 1080-1440P 60FPS vids, because from what I heard the files are massive.

he just needs space to store ONE video so that when its finished he can move it to his larger HDD for permanent storage

its not 80GB for ALL his videos, just one.

So I am doing Youtube. I PC game mostly and I would like to start recording in higher resolution since my PC can handle it easily. Right now, I have a SSD running Windows 7 and my 1TB HDD storing all my files and games. When I record to it I can only record up to 720P 60FPS or it can't write it fast enough to the HDD. So, I want something I could possibly record 1080-1440P 60FPS video to. The problem is I would like to keep this to a maximum of $100 since I only do youtube for fun. Any suggestions? It can be around 80GB storage since after I record I will move it to my HDD to edit anyways.

Basically, I am looking for a HDD or SSD under $100 that has high read/write speeds.

Thanks!

I stand corrected. :) The length of the video would probably matter though.

a 240GB SSD would be enough for over 6 hours of 60fps 1440p video...

its a bit over your original $100 budget, but its one of the best consumer SSDs on the market

so if you can afford it, go for it :)
