WD Green Making Noise

Go to solution Solved by failblox,

Thank you ,

so my WD is alright ?

Yes it's perfectly fine. If it wasn't making those noises I'd be more concerned.

Hi , i recently bought a new PC

for storage i bought the WD Caviar Green 4 TB

and SSD for the OS

everytime i access the Local Disk D (Caviar Green) either just accessing , watching video, or playing games from that drive

the HDD make sounds like this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHja_DwCeHw

0:08 - 0:21

and after 5 - 10 seconds i stop playing games , watching video , accessing , the WD become quiet

Is this the normal sound ? or is it defective ?

The more accessing that's going on, the more "clicking" you will hear.

Am I the only one who heard sound? Worked fine for me.

I listened to the video again. I'm hearing audio. In fact, the same audio.

Hard drives naturally make clicking noises when there's activity.

I hear the audio too. When my HDD (WD Black) is on heavy load it has the same noise, so I think it's okay.

Is your WD noise exactly like this ? (i think mine is like this too , but quieter)

https://www.youtube....h?v=ZpNxovn7yjs

But when i close my PC Case, there's a little noise like the video + there's a tump noise too when i try to access the drive or playing

the analogy is like , when person A kick a wall , and the person B can hear it from the other side of the wall

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

I can hear the sound. My western digital green drive did this to me.

It has died like 2-3 weeks ago, Not saying that your drive is going to die or anything but mine had done it since I got it really.

I don't think there's a way to fix it either :/

Well at least it's new so you shouldn't have it break on you haha.
