Heard about the memory and performance problems with all GTX 970 GPUs?

Just get the one with the ACX cooler. SC cards and FTW cards aren't really worth it for anything but the very best. You can hit the overclock of the SC cards easily yourself.

I'm sorry I'm kinda out of touch, what does ACX, SC and FTW stand for?

ACX is the name of their custom cooler. The one with the 2 large fans. The SC (superclocked) version comes with a factory overclock, but you can overclock it yourself if you really want to. The FTW cards are meant for overclocking, with a custom PCB and a few other other nice additions. Those cards are only relevant if you want to overclock it with extreme cooling or something similar.

Is it coming out soon?

I wouldn't bother waiting for it. The backplate is nice, but can be bought anyway, and the very slight performance increase isn't worth the increase in price.

There aren't any performance issues, except the vram limit.

That's what I'm talking about. It's because of that limit that the memory bandwidth drops which, in affect, reduces that GPUs performance. ;)

So they're all pretty much identical hardware it's just the cooling system that is different?
