Sup bruh's,

I'm looking to learn more about mousemats (all the different textures, reputable brands etc.).

Right now I'm using a Steelseries QCK because from preliminary research there seemed to be a general consensus that 'hard mats = LOD skyrockets".

I'm wondering how bad the LOD gets and what the properties of the materials most commonly used are. Also which mouse mat would you recommend for an optical mouse? Are there any that don't make LOD skyrocket?

I've come across the Razer Destructor 2, I like the look of it a lot but performance is more important to me. I'm also unsure about paying 40 euro's for a mouse mat but I'm willing to, if it's worth it. My budget is 30-40 EUR max.

Thanks for reading!

I use a hard mouse mat from Corsair, rough textured. I think it's the MM600 or something like that. I prefer it over any soft one I've used in the past, far more comfortable to me, far more easy to keep clean and the surface is absolutely FINE for any sensor, I don't get why any modern optical would have a problem with it. (i use a G502 from logitech)

Anyway that mousemat is a bit expensive, but they have smaller ones too that aren't boudle sided like this.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

I bought the Asus Stric Glide Control a few days ago (http://www.asus.com/Gaming/STRIX_GLIDE_CONTROL/) and I'm liking it so far.

In my opinion, the surface is a bit too rough for my hands, but perfect for my mouse.

There is enough real estate for my mouse and hand to move around, which was what I was looking for.

EDIT: it was 15 euros

Cool, Imma check it out. I'm just looking to scope out some nice ones and buy a good one. I've seen people recommend a few brands I can't remember well enough to find em.

I know modern optical mice won't have a problem tracking on a good mouse mat, but hard surfaces with light colors reflect more of the LED light back to the sensor increasing lift off distance. Something I'm looking to avoid.

Hmm, it's not really my cup of tea honestly. I'd prefer the Steelseries QCK(+) over it.. Thanks though.
