I need help buying which parts

Go to solution Solved by Devastion,

AMD won't do the job. Xeon/i7 are the best for the job (rendering). Start with Sony Vegas and make compilations in youtube as begining? There are so much ways to go in video editing. Look and Adobe software. It's your choice. Just go for GTX. Quadro are more specific and in general video editing they won't get over GTX ;).

Budget: 2,000 US Dollars maximum.

Purchase Website: Newegg USA, Amazon USA.

Aim: Learning video editing.

Monitors: I need one monitor. I don't plan on using a second monitor. 1920x1080p. 24"+.

Peripherals: I need a good mouse, keyboard, and speakers.

Thanks! I don't want anything that's overkill.

Do I really need a full sized case? Are there no better power supply Options? What about a Xeon processor, are they good? Is the graphics card too overkill?

Thanks in advance. (replied through my phone)

I don't think the graphics card is overkill. You're doing video editing, so..

But yes I can go with a smaller case

Xeon is fine I guess

EDIT: Xeon's are generally pretty much the same as the Core series with the exception of ECC memory support and little overclocking

I will admit that a 1TB ssd is on the overkill side of things. But is means a cooler and thus quieter running rig that is very fast. The monitor has a pair of inexpensive speakers, I wasn't sure if you were looking to edit sound or not. There is room in the budget for reasonably decent but inexpensive mouse and keyboard. Again, wasn't sure if gaming level peripherals were needed.

Hyper-threading will be useful for video editing.

Speakers

I put this crappy peripherals, because you can't actually get decent peripherals for the money. I think these peripherals will do work for you and after 2-3 months you save up for some decent peripherals. Look here for mouse/keyboard/mousepad and also for Das Keyboard 4 Professional.

I want to learn how to edit videos and stuff after I buy all of the parts. I have read that different products go with different programs for video editing, like on some programs a GTX is better than a Quadro, but in others a Quadro is better than a GTX. Which program should I start up with and should I go for a GTX or Quadro GPU? Also, is FX-8320/50 a better option? Or are Xeon processors the best for this kind of stuff?

Thanks!
