I just assembled an amd cpu barebones computer, wih only a cpu, motherboard and RAM, and I am wondering if I can test it without my graphics card, as I am still saving up for it. My motherboard is ASRock 990fx Extreme3 and my CPU is an AMD FX-8350

Yeah, the FX series has no iGPU.

Maybe you have a cheap GPU laying around or you can borrow one fro ma friend?

I do have a really old graphics card in my basement, a GeForce 2mx, would that be compatible with my motherboard?

I would try it out for the fun of it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I just don't know if it even has PCI compatibility

Try out every PCI slot until/if it works man. If you aren't using the ancient GPU then YOLO your way through it.

That card is ancient. You'd be better off buying something like this if you really wanted to.
