Is Grim Fandango Good?

Just wondering if it's worth pre-ordering it, it's on GOG.com and I've heard nothing but good things from people. Is it really as good as everyone says it is? or is it just people being nostalgic about it?

Is the grass green? Grim Fandango is amazing. It does look a bit dated of course, but it's got nice puzzles, good humour that, while some jokes are bad, they still get you to laugh, and the story is really good. You forget a lot about previous events in the story that seem insignificant, then you find out more about them late game
