Intel broadwell release date

i would like to purchase an intel broadwell mobo cpu and ddr4 ram and would like to know when it it will be released so i can see the exact cost of the items and obviously get them. if anybody knows an official release date or anything along those lines can you let me know.

Most websites say Q2 2015 or Q3

I believe Broadwell Desktop CPU's are coming out in Q3...

and Z97 MoBo's are possibly (Can't remember if it was an official statement) going to support broadwell.

you will have to wait for skylake if you want ddr4. for unlocked variants, possibly early 2016.

that is true, because intel wants to roll out skylake asap, also broadwell fabs in arizona and elsewhere havent even started yet so 14nm is not even in production for desktops.

skylake is 14nm just different architecture fit for smaller node. so its worth waiting for it.

 

around the same time AMD will release its own offering also. so we can finally expect some competition and choice.

 

skylake will support both ddr3 and ddr4

 

broadwell will be able to work on same socket as now but with bios update

Skylake is mid 2016. Broadwell is mid 2015. DDR4 is skylake not broadwll
