This setup is perfect.

To lower the price, you could get cheaper RAM, since speed doesn't matter and those fans are not really necessary.

But I think you should just buy it, since price doesn't seem to be an issue for you.

You REALLY don't need a 4x4GB kit, a simple 2x8GB kit would do nicely, as well as adding future upgrades for another kit.

technically would make it faster as you would be using less addresses and putting less stress on the mem controller.

Maybe I'll go for the 980, maybe not. I will probably overclock a lot on the 970 anyway. That and all I want is a pc that can max almost all games (just cause 3)
