Hello,

I installed a Custom Water Loop yesterday and was getting high Temps on my CPU when testing with Prime95 (Small FFTs). My 3570K @ 4,5 GHz is reaching up to 87°C. Idle Temps of the CPU are 21-35°C, depending on the Core It seems a bit too high, considering the setup...

Setup:

Res - Pump - Rad (240x60mm) - CPUBlock EK Supremecy EVO Acetal+Nickel - Rad (140x60mm) - GPU (Just the block; Still waiting on the GPU >_<) - ...

The Fan are all preasure-optimised Noctua (F12 and A14) and spin at ~800RPM. Ambient Temp is around 22°C.

The Radiators and the Water do not seem to heat up a lot (~20min Test) which I can see, since the Setup is pretty over the top for the CPU alone.

Did I do something wrong or are those Temps normal?

Best regards,

Strange~

Try reseating the cpu block do you have airbubbles in your loop?

Try using intel XTU instead of prime95 see what temps you get

I can see it's 'warm' from the steamy res water. Out of interest, what voltage is your overclocked cpu running on? Do the rads feel warm to the touch? Are the hoses jellified? Have you tried some other software for reading those temps yet?

The rads are barely above room temperature. Also, the water res looks like that even when powered off over night. For the test the cpu was running at 4,5GHz @ 1,332V. For reading the temps I used Realtemp. Speedfan showed 72°C for some reason...

Your doing a stress test, with the fans stuck at 800 rpm? Those fans need to ramp up with cpu temp. If you set your fans to 1000rpm and rerun the test, I bet you'll get a lower temp. Try that bud and see if it helps

Removed the low noise adapter and let the fans spin at 1500RPM. CPU temps are ~73°C now. There are about 5°C difference between the hottest and the coolest core.

On Idle I do get about 28-30°C @ 500RPM.

The case was open during the testing.

Do these Values sounds reasonable?

Are you sure you got the right fans? 60mm rads can be very though on some fans.

Also, are you sure they are mounted the right way?

the fans should be fien the color in the front indicated noctuas, but temps shouldnt be that high at all, the mounting is possible.

Why do people test with prime or other 'we will cook your cpu'-benchmarks? wouldnt day to day useage not be a better indicator if things are alright? I dont get it.

Also whats with that little sack down there? Are there any extremely tight bends behind it? Make sure you got no kink in your tubing

In the bag is the GPU-Block (EK-VGA Supremacy - Acetal+Nickel)lol.
