I am planning on building my first ever gaming rig, and have a budget of 800 euros. I am planning on playing RTS games, and an RPG or two. I am planning on buying a asus strix r9 285, 2 x 4gb ram (cl9) asrock fatal1ty motherboard, phantom 410, corsair cs 750m. I am unsure as to what cpu I should get. I want it to be overclock able, and at a reasonable price (up to 180$). Thank you for the help in advance.

You should probably get an i3 or something from AMD.

Please provide all the information for your hardware you have already chosen. Also, unless you are planning a GPU upgrade, you don't need a 750W PSU.

the unlocked CPUs in this price range are ALL from AMD and they ALL get outperformed by the lowest end Core i3 CPU even with the AMD CPU overclocked balls to the wall so i strongly suggest you forget overclocking and just order a core i3-4130 and a cheap H series or B85 motherboard instead.

For 180 dollars you can get a locked i5. It won't overclock but trust me you don't have to. It will Max out any game out now (provided you have a good GPU) and outperform every CPU that is under 200$. And since you are playing RPGs and RTS an Intel CPU is going to vastly outperform amd CPUs in those games.

you can overclock on a non z serie mobo so maybe get a cheaper mobo and get a i5 4690k

GPU, SSD, PSU, case...there's plenty of areas where you can put it!

probably on the graphics card get R9 290, R9 290X or GTX 970 or GTX 780 if possible...this is what is considered ''high-end'' graphics cards and they are worth every penny if you are building a gaming rig.
