Massdrop gives refunds for Cooler Master screw up

KingDaddyDaniel

There are only about 408 people in this drop, but this thread is more about how Massdrop is handling it.

The email to all those who participated in the drop

Got a hefty update for the group today.

We ran this keyboard in mid November with the understanding that the manufacturer would be able to have these ready for shipment in Mid-January. Throughout the process we would do regular follow-ups with our representative while also coordinating other Cooler Master drops such as the switch tester. Every time we reached out to him he assured us that the order was proceeding at an appropriate pace.

Earlier today we reached out to them to arrange freight pick-up in-line with last weeks update when our representative let us know that the order was still not complete due to a switch shortage.

This was extremely shocking as throughout the fulfillment process we were reassured countless times that the order was on track for January shipment. We escalated this within Cooler Master and were assigned a new representative with and they let us know that there was a mistake made on their end and the order was not inputted on time by our previous rep. Due to this production on these will be complete in February.

This was very unacceptable and we made this clear to Cooler Master and due to this we have been assigned a more senior representative.

We understand this delay is rather undesirable. If you prefer not to wait for the keyboard and want to have your order cancelled, please click contact support next to your order in the transaction page.

If there’s any feedback or concerns, please feel free to email us back at supportemail

We would like to reiterate that new processes have been put into place for future orders with CM to make sure issues like this do not happen again and the vendor has fully taken responsibility for the issue and is going to make sure that there are no further delays.

We will be updating the group regularly and update you all as soon as we get updated info.

Expect an update from us on 1/29 or sooner if something comes up.

This definitely sucks, but Massdrop allowing refunds is pretty awesome.

317 is watching. 317 is everywhere. 317 is life.

That's a pretty awsome response from a company. Of course it wasn't Mass Drops fault so they probs don't care as much about sending out this kind of apology

Wonder why the other rep didn't come up front about it when massdrop was following up with him/her. There would be frustration, but less if everyone knew in advance.

- Fresher than a fruit salad.
