I was looking at coolers to get when I came across the CM Nepton 240M and the CM Seidon 240M...

Which one should I get? The Seidon is slightly cheaper but does the Nepton have better temperatures?

Is the H100i better or are the Nepton or Seidon better...

Please reply if you can help!

Thanks!

I picked my cooler based on the reviews on the site I was looking to buy it. If I came across multiple, I make a mental list of pros and cons of each I found by simply googling it's name. Corsair and coolermaster both make GREAT coolers. If you don't mind telling me what CPU you are running and if you have it overclocked or not, I may be a better of help.

Avoid the H100i, just a ton of potential problems.  Not everyone gets them, but enough people complain that its not a product I can recommend.

The Nepton 240M is the superior cooler, and its the one I would go for.  Its more quiet, and performs a little bit better.  Also, the included fans are incredibly high end, so no need to replace them, whereas with most other AIOs, you do need to replace the fans to get lower noise.

I personally own the Seidon 240M, and I love it.  I did get it at a massive discount though, so I'm a little bias.  Its great, temperatures are great, no pump noise, but fans are loud at higher RPMs.

You can't go wrong with either, but the Nepton 240M is easily the better AIO.

I'm planning to use the i5-4690K probably going to overclock to 4.0 or 4.2...

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I think I might go with the Nepton though right now it is a bit more expensive than the Seidon... I'll look into it!

Its worth the extra expensive.  Buy the Nepton 240M with confidence.

$100 plus cooler and you are going to only overclock the cpu minimally?  If so just get a decent affordable aftermarket air cooler.  Heck the CM Hyper 212s go on sale for $19.99 sometimes.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I want my CPU to stay cool... I could consider overclocking more but I want my PC to still perform well and still last longish so it's worth my money.

To me it doesn't make sense for you but hey you can do what you want.  Also there are outstanding air coolers that will do what you need it to do and more for far less cost.  Also with an air cooler no risk of water leaks even if they are rare with an AIO liquid cooler.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

@Faceman, would the NZXT Kraken be better than the CM Nepton?

In terms of pure performance, yes the X61 is better than the Nepton 240M.  But, when noise comes into play, the Nepton is WAY better.  Think of the Nepton 240M as an NH-D15 in terms of noise and temperatures, except its an AIO.  Its not the best when it comes to temperatures, performing like a high end 240mm radiator, which it is, but the low noise is where it really wows.  I own an X31, and the pump is not quiet by any means.  The stock fan was also very loud, had to replace it.  With the Nepton 240M, you get incredibly high end fans from the start that don't need to be replaced, and the pump is near-silent.  It depends on what your priorities are, me personally, I will take 3C higher temps for 10dBa less noise.

Also, what people don't realize about the X61, is that its best performance comes when its fan are at maximum speed, which is insanely loud.  I don't know anyone who runs their fans at max speed. 7v/60% fan speed is much more realistic, and a lot of AIOs perform better than the X61 at that fan speed.

You can't go wrong with either, they are both excellent products, just depends on what your specific needs and wants are.

Okay, I understand now. It's just I see in some of the CPU cooler videos that LTT makes and the NZXT Kraken seems to be the lowest temps. Looks like I'll be going with a Nepton!

Thanks for all the help!
