4690k safe Voltage

Go to solution Solved by Chronos5618,

I always say 1.3V for everyday, and absolutely no higher than 1.4V

Been messing around with this CPU and OCing it first time OCing a CPU

I have a custom loop and i know the temps i should be worried about.

What is a Safe Voltage i can run 24/7 with the CPU lasting me at least 2 years

1.3V max is what I would do for 24/7 though some say 1.35V max.

I prefer 1.3V max

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Ive seen people go as far as 1.5V 24/7, but this forum is hellbent on 1.3v only.

Question, you're using a i5-4670? That isn't Overclockable. Or is your signature outdated? I re-read the thread title.

If you're on a custom loop, 1.4v 24/7 shouldn't be an issue.

My rule of thumb is the cooler I can keep it, the more comfortable I feel pushing more voltage through.

I used to run 24/7 1.48v on my 3930k @ 4.9 ghz for like 6 months, didn't have any issues at all, it degraded a tiny bit but all that not much.
