WHY DOES MY CASE KEEP SHOCKING ME

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

My whole apartment is carpeted... Unless I build in the bathroom. Am I screwed? Those were really intense shocks, only a few seconds away from each other so i don't think the lowering the charge thing works :(..

Than take anti static strap, one end on case other on you and you are good to go :)

My hand hurts so badly now. It's shocked me at least 6 times when I tried to touch it... GOD. It's the h440.. Anyone have any idea how to stop this

No I just took the case out of the box!

I literally just got the case in the mail. It doesn't have any guts yet

It's not plugged in or anything

Yeah, that normally what happens, did you happen to take off any plastic around the case?

Yes the plastic coating on the transparent side panel.

Yeah, that always happens when opening new cases.

I would put it on a table where there is a non-carpet floor...sounds like a lot of charge is being built up.

Try avoiding that carpet until you finish your build. Also try to touch case every time you can so that potential in you and case equals more often so it never gets to the part when it hurts.
