Hello, I've recently decided that instead of buying a pre-build PC I'd try and build one myself. I have no idea what to buy and would be willing to spend around £800. I'd like to my PC to be able to multi task using two screens for stuff like my university work, and I'd also like to be able to stream Xbox One gameplay through my elgato. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

so i guess you need a full system

keyboard mouse needed?

two monitors needed?

do you need speakers?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

As above

also, any pc can handle the elgato, it just connects via USB - you cannot play from the recording though there will be a delay - you have to connect the xbox to the monitors

Ok thanks very much for your help last 2 questions, will I be able to stream at 720p on twitch? and what games could I play on this if I wanted to?

You will be able to stream, definitely. You will be able to play any game. Most titles maxed out.

As for the screens if you dont want to spend too much, I would sugest the ones I am using: 2x BenQ2460HM on a double monitor stand. They are 24'' 1080p TN panels with 2ms response time, they aren't as beautiful as IPS but they have great response times and a low blue light option that helps avoiding eye strain when working or gaming for many hours.

If you have a bit more to spend I would go for one of those 21:9 Ultra Wide LG monitors that Linus is so fond of, craving one of those for myself :P

My build: CPU: Intel i5-4690K; Motherboard: Asus RoG Maximus VII Ranger; RAM: Kingston Hyper X 16GB 1833Mhz; GPU: Gigabyte Windforce G1 Gaming GTX 960 2GB; PSU: Corsair CX750M; Storage: Kingston 240GB SSD + Synology NAS w/ WD Red 1TB; Cooling: Corsair H110Case: Corsair 450D; Accessories: Asus RoG Front Base;
