Hi,

after watching Linus' 2000 $ buildguide again, I was wondering why he choose a silence optimized case (fractal design define r4) and a mechanical keyboard.

What is the point of buying something supposed to be silent when you are using a loud keyboard?

Regards

(I was not sure if I should write this thread into "peripherals" or "cases". Hope it's right here.)

Some people like the loudness of the keys, but not the loudness of fans.

Keyboards don't make a sound unless you type on it. But when you have a computer on most of the day I'm pretty sure that you'll get annoyed by the sounds of a fan.
