can furmark damage a gpu?

as long as your temps are low, then it shouldn't.  How long are you planning on running it for, though?

Can eunning furmark on a gpu at stock voltage damage a gpu?

I'd say no, but if you let it run to the point where your temps are over 100 degrees you can definitely damage it. Mind your temps.

If you make sure your gpu does not overheat it won't.

Its been well known to kill gpu's from time to time. Theres a reason that they have a warning for your gpu safety upon first start up.

 

As others have said though, mind your temps and youll be ok.

Yes furmark can I've seen it happen to a POS XFX but it was brand new.

  1. 70ºC or less -> You are golden
  2. 70-80ºC -> You are good
  3. 80-90ºC -> You should either stop or ramp up fan speeds
  4. 90º or more -> "HELP ME, MY GPU IS ON FIRE, AND I CAN'T USE WATER ON IT!"

nah, my cards throttle so they wont go above 80-85c

no it doesen't. thats for sure. it stresses the gpu at its given voltage and clock, unless it has an automatic boost clock (wich is normal)

87c + STAWP PLEASE

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I had read some places that just ruinning it can damage your gpu, does it matter how many times I run it?

if you run it 24/7 the card would have a shorter life but its fine if you run it normaly 1-2 times

Bro, chill. You are fine. Forget about it, your GPU is fine. It's like parents hitting their children: a few taps won't kill them, but doing it 24/7 surely will.
