If your PC is on carpet that the case will sink into a bit: Fanside up

Otherwise: Fanside down

Note this assumes a bottom mounted PSU

Cuz then it'll take clean filtered air and not get clogged with dust.

Cuz then it won't heat up air that other components use to cool themselves.

Cuz the PSU itself will never have heat issues.

All good cases nowadays have filters in the bottom

If the intake is at the bottom then the air is pushed out the read so the components are not affected in anyway

It will never have heat issues if faced fanside down either

To be fair, my psu intakes through a filter from the floor (polished wood) and it still has a ton of dust in it, have to clean the filter quite often.

Really depends on the environment, in my case, internal intake may prove better.

Totally depends on the case and your PSU location, this thread is irrelevant

Your comment is kinda irreverent... thread is fine, instead of wasting a post, why not give a scenario, examples where one way might be better than another? If you're not going to contribute, why post at all?

Depending on the psu and how much of a load you put on it, the one major thing is not to expect the psu's fan to be required for moving the airflow through the case. That would be a major mistake if your psu is of a far higher capacity than you need, so in such a case it wont need to activate the fan that often.

Still new, but learning

Depends. If you have small case and bottom intakes are tight or blocked, you are screwed. PSU and GPU will fight over air since PSU will be intaking same air that GPU uses to cool. In larger case where there is few PCIe slots between GPU and PSU, you can easily have it intake from inside. Top mounted PSUs should always be intake from inside if CPU is air cooled. Otherwise it can be either way if top has mesh for it.

Personally I'm still waiting for sideways mounts to come in big time. That would make this poll really irrelevant.
